Cultural Event Dedicated to the Rights of Persons with Autism at the Initiative of the Permanent Mission of Georgia
At the initiative and under the organization of the Permanent Mission of Georgia in Geneva, a cultural event and exhibition dedicated to the rights of persons with autism was held within the framework of the 62nd session of the United Nations Human Rights Council. The exhibition featured works by young artists on the autism spectrum, Kamran Israfilov and Fernando Lozano Méndez.
The audience was addressed by the Permanent Representative of Georgia to the United Nations Office and other International Organizations in Geneva, Ambassador Revaz Lominadze.
In his remarks, the Permanent Representative emphasized the importance of strengthening the rights of persons with autism and deepening dialogue at both the national and international levels. He noted that such efforts contribute to the development of policies that better protect their rights and promote their social inclusion.
The participants were also addressed by Charlotte Lindberg Warakaulle, Director of the United Nations Library and Archives in Geneva, who thanked the Permanent Mission of Georgia for organizing the event.
It is noteworthy that the event organized by the Permanent Mission of Georgia was co-sponsored by the European Union, Azerbaijan, Brazil, the Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Germany, The Gambia, Malta, Mexico, Moldova, Montenegro, Panama, Portugal, Romania, Saudi Arabia, Slovakia, Ukraine, Hungary, Kyrgyzstan, and China.
