Revaz Lominadze, held a meeting with the Deputy Director-General of the World Trade Organization

On April 30, 2026, Georgia’s Permanent Representative, Revaz Lominadze, held a meeting with the Deputy Director-General of the World Trade Organization (WTO), Xiangchen Zhang.

The parties discussed current issues of cooperation between Georgia and the WTO. The Deputy Director-General particularly highlighted Georgia’s active engagement in the organization’s activities, as well as the successful implementation of its initiatives and projects. In this context, special emphasis was placed on the importance of the thematic session on MSMEs held last year at the initiative of Georgia’s Permanent Mission.

During the meeting, special attention was given to the WTO’s recent decision to select the Georgian National University (SEU) as the host partner institution for the next cycle of Regional Trade Policy Courses (RTPC) for member countries from Central and Eastern Europe, Central Asia, and the Caucasus. This decision was assessed as a significant recognition of Georgia’s academic and institutional potential.
