Autism Event at the UN Office in Geneva Co-Organized by Georgia’s Permanent Mission

On 9 December 2025, a screening of the Swiss film director Michael Beuchat’s documentary “Les couleurs de l’autisme” was held at the United Nations Office at Geneva (UNOG), organized by UNOG in cooperation with the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA). Notably, the event was co-organized by the Permanent Mission of Georgia to the United Nations Office and other international organizations in Geneva.

The Permanent Representative of Georgia to the UN Office and other international organizations in Geneva, Revaz Lominadze, addressed the audience. He emphasized the importance of strengthening the human rights of persons with autism and spoke about the side event “Living with Rights: Autism, Care and Support, and Inclusion,” organized by the Georgian Permanent Mission on 24 September 2025 in Geneva during the 60th session of the UN Human Rights Council, which was co-sponsored by 14 UN member states.

Film director Michael Beuchat, a representative of the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), and the parent of one of the main characters of the documentary also addressed the audience.

The film portrays the challenges and difficulties faced by persons with autism, as well as their remarkable abilities.

The documentary screening was held as part of events dedicated to the International Day of Persons with Disabilities and Human Rights Day.
