Revaz Lominadze Participated in the Sixty-Seventh Series of Meetings of the Assemblies of the Member States of WIPO

On April 21, 2026, in Geneva, Georgia’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Office and other international organizations, Revaz Lominadze, participated in the Sixty-Seventh Series of Meetings of the Assemblies of the Member States of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), where he addressed the audience.

In his remarks, Revaz Lominadze noted that Georgia attaches great importance to cooperation with WIPO. “The partnership between Georgia and WIPO plays an important role in strengthening the country’s national intellectual property system, promoting innovation, and supporting sustainable economic development,” the Permanent Representative stated.

In this context, Revaz Lominadze highlighted concrete results achieved through cooperation between Georgia and the organization. In particular, he referred to the trilateral memorandum signed between the World Intellectual Property Organization, Kutaisi International University (KIU), and Sakpatenti, on the basis of which a joint international master’s program -Intellectual Property, Innovation and Entrepreneurship - was introduced in Georgia for the first time.

He also underscored the significance of the documentary film produced by WIPO in 2025 on cooperation between Georgia and the organization.

Revaz Lominadze additionally noted the importance of holding the qualification examination for patent attorneys, describing it as an important step toward strengthening professional standards in the field of intellectual property.

During his address, Georgia’s Permanent Representative congratulated the Director General of WIPO on his reappointment to the position and expressed hope that, under his leadership, the World Intellectual Property Organization will continue advancing an inclusive, balanced, and effective global intellectual property system.
